Overview
Astrals are acquired in the Astro, entered by pressing the Astro button at bottom of screen, or Hotkey: H
They are used in the astral tab of your character, and will greatly increase your character's power.

Astrals have levels, and gain XP. Acquired astrals are always level 1.
Astrals gain XP by having another astral merged into them.
Drag 1 astral onto another, the astral being dragged is consumed and adds XP to the other.
Unwanted astrals can be merged (in astral page) or sold (in astro).

Astral Types
All astrals, of any type, have various colorings.
The different colorings of an astral type have the same properties, but with varying degrees of affect.
The colors, in order of power are:
Color - XP for merging - Resale value
Green - 10xp - 3600 gold
Blue - 30xp - 6000 gold
Purple - 50xp - 8400 gold
Orange - 70xp - 10800 gold
and soon Red - unknown values.

There is one special Red astral now, the Energine.
Grey (misfortune) Astrals are junk to sell, and cannot merge.

These are the available types of astrals, each can be of any color listed above:
Aegis - Reduce all damage taken by set amt
Blessed Health - 10% chance to gain set amt of HP while attacking
Brilliancy - adds set amt to HP
Charm - adds set amt to Charisma
Deflection - 10% chance to reflect a % of damage taken
Determination - Critical base damage increased by a %
Energine - adds 500 xp to any astral when merged.
Enshieldment - adds set amt to Block
Force - adds set amt to Physical Attack (Patk)
Fortitude - adds set amt to Physical Defence (Pdef)
Guardian Angel - Chance of receiving criticals reduced by %
Goddess Blessing - Reduce all damage taken by a %
Illusion - % chance of dodging damage
Mysticality - adds set amt to Magic Attack
Regeneration - 10% chance to gain HP equal to % of the damage done
Ruthlessness - Expands floating damage (random part of damages) by a %
Sniper's Edge - adds set amt to Critical
Will Destroyer - Disable crit damage, but increase normal damage by a %
Willpower - adds set amt to Magic Defense (Mdef)

Acquiring Astrals:
Each time an astral is acquired in Astro, you gain star points.
Star points can be used to purchase specific Purple and Orange (and presumably Red) in the exchange button, beside star point counter.
You can view all purple and orange astral attributes in exchange.
All purple astrals cost 2000 star points, orange are 7000, red Energine is 1000.
You must have at least 20,000 gold to capture an astral.

Star - Cost - Star Points - possible captures
Magus - 4000 gold - 1 star point - 40% gray and 60% green.
Ceres - 5000 gold - 2 star point - 30% gray, 30% green and 40% blue.
Pallas - 6000 gold - 3 star point - 10% green, 70% blue and 20% purple. (chance of gray here instead of purple <20%)
Satum - 8000 gold - 4 star point - Blue, purple and orange astrals. (chance of greens & greys here is rare)
Chiron - 10000 gold - 5 star point - Blue, purple and orange astrals. (chance of greens & greys here is very rare)

After acquiring Astrals, you can choose to sell or capture each one.
Capturing an astral moves it into Character's Astral page, accessed in Astro by click the large Astrals button in bottom right corner of screen.
It is in Character's Astral page that merging for xp gain occurs.

Character Astral page:
1-click synthesis - merges all unlocked astrals in inventory (not equipped ones) into a single astral of XP equal to all merged.
XP transfer for astrals is 100%, all XP is preserved at all times.
WARNING - be careful of accidentally merging desired astrals with the 1-click option.

Lock - Is really lock/unlock. Click the lock button, click an astral, and it is locked.
Locked astrals are not affected by the 1-click synthesis, but can be manually merged.
Locked astrals is a safety feature.
Find a great astral? lock it immediately, to prevent accidental loss.

Astro - Back to acquire screen.

All there is to it. Now go grab some astrals Very Happy

Last note:
Sell green astrals or keep them?
If gaining experience for your current astrals, makes no difference in cost, but is quicker to capture and synth the green astrals.
If going for stronger astrals, then sell. Selling green astral refunds gold, creates star points, and allows more chances to acquire from higher stars.
